Our company performs energy consultant tasks for companies obliged to employ specialists in the field. As part of our consultant services, we will do everything necessary for you to comply with legal requirements. Consultant tasks are performed by colleagues of our company, who have thorough professional experience and are registered, legally authorized to carry out the energy consultant services.
Why do you need an energy consultant?
The Energy Efficiency Act (Ehat.tv. Act LVII of 2015) and Government Decree on its implementation (Ehat.vhr.) prescribed data provision tasks for domestic companies with significant energy use. Companies can perform these tasks by employing an energy consultant, this data can only be provided by registered consultants. In any case, the consultant must be independent of the company that is using his services, so it is not possible to appoint an internal staff member for this task.
In case of failure to provide the data by a consultant, from 1. June 2017. MEKH will impose a fine.
Who needs to employ an energy consultant?
Under the law, companies have to employ an energy consultant if their energy consumption exceeds

400 000 kWh/year of electricity, or
-
100 000 m3/year of natural gas, or
-
3 400 GJ/year of heating.
Companies that operate an energy management system according to ISO 50001/2011 are also required to employ an energy consultant.
Tasks of the energy consultant
The energy consultant's two main responsibilities are to monitor the company's energy consumption and to make recommendations to the company in this regard. The consultant writes a monthly and yearly report on the company's energy consumption, which must be sent to the Hungarian Energy and Utility Regulatory Authority (MEKH). The content of this report and the method for its submission are governed by law.
Service charge
The tasks of an energy consultant service provider greatly depend on the size of the company, the scope of its activities, the number of places of consumption and other factors.
